YOGA

My style is eclectic – with a focus on the balance of breath with fluidity and strength.

HATHA YOGA – Through a series of asanas (postures) and attention to breath, this thousands of years old practice of yoga (to yolk together) will assist you in becoming flexible, strong, focused and balanced – in mind, body and spirit. Being mindful of your breath with each movement, you will begin to experience the peace and calm that yoga offers. These classes are eclectic in nature and incorporate the influence of BKS Iyengar and other lineages (with a little fluid movement added in). Suitable for most ages and levels of experience.

RESTORATIVE YOGA – The power of restorative yoga lies in its stillness. Different from a more active practice, restorative yoga uses many props- blankets, bolsters, belts, blocks, chairs, sandbags and time to support the body in a very comfortable way. When the body has the time and comfort to reach a deep state of rest and relaxation, healing can occur. This practice is a natural way to reduce emotional or physical pain, stress and sleeplessness.

CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS – No matter age or physical being, yoga with a chair can bring the benefits and joy of yoga to everyone! Seniors often receive benefits from being encouraged to breathe, lift their posture, and trust their balance. While mostly sitting, and at times standing, the body will stretch, strengthen, twist and open. This class is suitable for all levels.

I give honor to all my teachers, past, present and future.
